To view the documentation, you must have X-Windows working on your system. In addition, you need to have the appropriate viewers, such as a frames-capable HTML browser, such as Mozilla, or a PDF viewer, such as Adobe Reader. Portable Application Solutions Environment (i5/OS(TM) PASE) support ------------------------------------------------------------------ IBM XL C/C++ Enterprise Edition for AIX, V9.0 can be installed and operated in the i5/OS PASE environment using i5/OS V5R3, or later, with the appropriate PTF. Uninstalling beta or evaluation versions ---------------------------------------- Before installing the fully-licensed version of IBM XL C/C++ Enterprise Edition for AIX, V9.0 you must uninstall any beta or evaluation version of the product you have on your system. To do so, at the command prompt, log in as root, and type the following command: installp -ugw vac.* vacpp.* memdbg.* xlhelp.* xlmass.* xlsmp.* xlC.adt.include xlC.msg* If you also have XL Fortran installed in its default location, you must not remove any filesets which are shared between the compilers. Uninstalling common components such as memdbg.*, xlhelp.*, xlmass.*, xlsmp.*, and xlC.* will also make any fully-licensed version of the product that you have installed unable to function. Use with discretion. Uninstalling previous versions ------------------------------ Before installing IBM XL C/C++ Enterprise Edition for AIX, V9.0 you must uninstall any previous versions of the product you have on your system by following the uninstall instructions that came with that version.
