Requirements for using the Incremental Installer version for Domino 5.0.5
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Installing the increment for Domino 5.0.5 requires Domino for AS/400 Release
5.0.4 and the QMU update 5.0.4a already be installed on the system. The
install code for the Incremental Installer will first check to determine if
Release 5.0.4 is installed and then check to determine if the QMU update to
5.0.4a is installed. The Incremental Installer version of 5.0.5 will fail to
install if the 5.0.4a QMU is not already installed.

An example of the failure to install the 5.0.5 increment when the 5.0.4 release
is NOT installed follows:

> rstlicpgm licpgm(5769lnt) dev(*savf)
	       option(*base) savf(mylib/domino)

THIS IS AN INCREMENTAL INSTALL OF 5769LNT V5R0M5. REQUIRES VRM V5R0M4 TO
    BE INSTALLED.
REQUIRED VERSION V5R0M4 NOT INSTALLED. TO INSTALL THIS INCREMENTAL
VERSION OF 5769LNT FIRST INSTALL VERSION V5R0M4 OF 5769LNT *BASE ON
THIS SYSTEM. THEN INSTALL REQUIRED UPDATE 5.0.4a.
  Exit program processing failed.
Product 5769LNT option *BASE release *FIRST not processed.
*PGM objects for product 5769LNT option *BASE release *FIRST not
     restored.
Objects for product 5769LNT option *BASE release *FIRST not restored.

In this example release V5R0M4 of Domino product 5769LNT was not already installed.
To recover from this problem the V5R0M4 version of Domino should first be installed
and then the 5.0.4a QMU should be installed before attempting to install the increment
to 5.0.5.

An example of the failure to install the 5.0.5 increment when the 5.0.4 release
is installed but the QMU for 5.0.4a is NOT installed follows:

> rstlicpgm licpgm(5769lnt) dev(*savf)
	       option(*base) savf(mylib/domino)

THIS IS AN INCREMENTAL INSTALL OF 5769LNT V5R0M5. REQUIRES VRM V5R0M4 TO
    BE INSTALLED.
  REQUIRED VRM V5R0M4 INSTALLED.
File DOMINO_VER created in library QTEMP.
  Object not found.
  Stream file not copied.
  DOMINO.VER NOT FOUND.
REQUIRED VERSION UPDATE 5.0.4a NOT INSTALLED. TO INSTALL AN INCREMENTAL
VERSION OF 5769LNT FIRST INSTALL UPDATE 5.0.4a OF 5769LNT *BASE ON THIS
    SYSTEM.
  Exit program processing failed.
Product 5769LNT option *BASE release *FIRST not processed.
*PGM objects for product 5769LNT option *BASE release *FIRST not
     restored.
Objects for product 5769LNT option *BASE release *FIRST not restored.

In this example release V5R0M4 of Domino product 5769LNT was installed but the QMR
to update it to 5.0.4a was not installed. To recover from this problem the 5.0.4a QMU
should be installed before attempting to install the increment to 5.0.5.

Information about the 5.0.4a QMU for Domino for AS/400 can be found at:
  	      http://www.as400.ibm.com/domino/support/

Mandatory PTF required to install Incremental Installer for Domino 5.0.5
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before installing Domino for AS/400, you must make sure that the
following AS/400 PTF is installed. The installation of Domino for
AS/400 5.0.5 will fail unless you first install and apply the PTF
on your AS/400 system.

The required PTF is:

V4R3 -- 5769999 MF22740
V4R4 -- 5769999 MF22649

NOTE: If you already have 5.0.1 or later a version installed then you
likely already have the necessary PTF installed.
Also, if you have the latest PTF cumulative package installed, then you
likely already have the necessary PTF installed.
You can determine if the proper PTF is installed by issuing the command
"DSPPTF 5769999" on an AS/400 command line.

After applying the PTF, you must IPL (restart)
the AS/400 system.

If the required PTF is removed after installation of Domino for
AS/400 5.0.5, Domino servers will not start. Also, if you install
a different version of OS/400 after Domino for AS/400 5.0.5 is
installed, you must load and apply the required PTF listed above
for that version of OS/400.

For more details on required AS/400 PTFs, see "AS/400 PTF
requirements" in the release notes.

Also, information about AS/400 PTFs and the latest QMUs for
Domino for AS/400 can be found at:
     http://www.as400.ibm.com/domino/support/

Download and Installation steps:
--------------------------------

 1. Transfer files to AS/400
 ---------------------------

The save files listed under the section above titled
INSTALLATION PROCEDURES FOR ELECTRONIC IMAGE
must be transferred from the PC to an AS/400 system.

a. Determine which of the Domino for AS/400 options you wish
to install. If you are upgrading from an earlier release of
Domino for AS/400, see section 2 below for more information.

b. Create AS/400 save files to contain Domino for AS/400 *BASE
and any options you plan to install.

For example, create a library to contain the save files. Then
create save file domino for the *BASE software and save file
domino1 for Domino for AS/400 Option 1, as follows:

 > crtlib mylib
 > crtsavf mylib/domino
 > crtsavf mylib/domino1

c. Transfer the appropriate binary files from the PC to the AS/400
save files created in step b. For example:

cd xxxx [change to the directory that contains the save files]
ftp [your AS/400 system name or IP address]
Name:[Enter your AS/400 user profile name and press enter]
Password:[Enter your AS/400 password and press enter]
   ftp>binary
	 Representation type is binary IMAGE.
   ftp>put [drive letter]:/filenameb mylib/domino (replace
   ftp>put [drive letter]:/filename1 mylib/domino1 (replace
   ftp>quit

The AS/400 save files for the option(s) you plan to install should
now be on your AS/400 system.

2. Preparing to Install Domino for AS/400
-----------------------------------------

a. Use the Display Software Resources (DSPSFWRSC) command to
determine which Domino for AS/400 options you have installed.
On the display locate 5769LNT. One or more lines will be displayed
for each option of Domino for AS/400 that is installed on your
system. Write down each option number for Domino for AS/400 that
   appears on the display.

You must install each option that is already installed on your
system. You may also choose to install additional options.

b. Back up both the Domino data directories and all the Domino
libraries on the AS/400. For more information about backing up
your Domino for AS/400 servers, see Chapter 5 Managing Backup
and Recovery in Installing and Managing Domino for AS/400 at:

   http://www.notes.net/doc

c. Stop all Domino servers on the AS/400. Use the ENDDOMSVR command
or Operations Navigator to end the servers. After all servers have
ended, check that all Domino subsystems are also ended.

d. If you use directory synchronization, use the following command
to end the directory synchronization jobs.

 > call qnotesint/qnndiend

e. Allow at least 5 minutes for the servers and directory
synchronization to end. Since all Domino-related jobs run under
the QNOTES user profile, you can use the following command to
determine if any Domino-related jobs are still active:

 > wrkusrjob qnotes status(*active)

 3. Installing Domino for AS/400
 -------------------------------
a. Make sure Domino for AS/400 Version 5.0.4 and QMU 5.0.4a are
   installed.

The Incremental Installer version of Domino for AS/400 5.0.5
requires that the previous version (5.0.4) and the QMU for that
   version (5.0.4a) are installed.

To determine if the 5.0.4a QMU is installed enter the command:

 > DSPDOMCSL SERVER(<your Domino server name>)

When a Domino server is started the startup message will contain the
   currently installed release level.

Alternatively the PTF that contains the 5.0.4a QMU can be displayed.
   Enter the command:

 > DSPPTF LICPGM(5769LNT) SELECT(SF63478)

The command will display the PTF if it is on the system. Selecting the
   1. General information option will display PTF status. The status should
be that the PTF SF63478 is permanently or temporarily applied.

If the 5.0.4 release of Domino and the 5.0.4a QMU are not installed,
the increment will fail to install.

b. Load and apply mandatory PTF:

Before installing Domino for AS/400, you must make sure that the
following AS/400 PTF is installed. The installation of Domino for
AS/400 5.0.5 will fail unless you first install and apply the PTF
  on your AS/400 system.

  The required PTF is:

   V4R3 -- 5769999 MF22740
   V4R4 -- 5769999 MF22649

NOTE: If you already have 5.0.1 or a later version installed
then you likely already have the necessary PTF installed.
Also, if you have the latest PTF cumulative package installed,
then you likely already have the necessary PTF installed.
You can determine if the proper PTF is installed by issuing
the command "DSPPTF 5769999" on an AS/400 command line.

After applying the PTF, you must IPL (restart)the AS/400.

For more details on required AS/400 PTFs, see "AS/400 PTF
requirements" in the release notes or refer to the web page:

     http://www.as400.ibm.com/lotus_notes/domsupport.htm

c. Use the RSTLICPGM command to install Domino for AS/400 from
the save file(s). Each option must be installed separately.

For example, to install the *BASE software and Option 1,
   issue the following commands:

   > rstlicpgm licpgm(5769lnt) dev(*savf)
	       option(*base) savf(mylib/domino)
   > rstlicpgm licpgm(5769lnt) dev(*savf)
	       option(1) savf(mylib/domino1)

Issue the RSTLICPGM command for any additional options you
  wish to install.

d. To confirm that the increment for the *BASE option
of Domino for AS/400 5.0.5 and all installed options
were updated correctly use the command:

   > chkprdopt prdid(5769LNT)

It should return with a "No errors detected by CHKPRDOPT." message.

 4. Creating/Starting your DOMINO Server
 ---------------------------------------

You can now start any existing DOMINO servers using the
STRDOMSVR command. To create a new DOMINO server, refer to
