Introducing the Administrative Console

The Administrative Console is a Web-based management tool that aids you in setting up and reconfiguring an IBM IP Storage appliance. The Administrative Console is divided into three frames: the Toolbar, Navigator, and Workspace.

Toolbar
The toolbar is located at the top of the page. It contains the following buttons:

Logoff
Logs you off of the Administrative Console.

Help
Displays help for elements on the current page.

Navigator
The Navigator is located on the left side of the page. It contains a navigation tree that allows you to make your way through the configuration pages. This tree is made up of the following items:

Network
Enables you to set IP addresses and configure the domain and SNMP.

Storage
Enables you to manage logical drives, virtual disks, and user access.

System
Enables you to identify the appliance, set the date and time, create administrators, manage code and configuration files, control locks on the Administrative Console , and reset the appliance.

Logs
Enables you to view various log reports.

Workspace
Displays the frames that require input from the administrator. Although some frames include buttons that are specific to the task you are performing, these main buttons are included on each frame within the workspace:

Apply
Activates the changes that you want to make.

The Reload button.
Reloads the Web page and resets field values.
