Defining Recovery Log Volumes
To define a new recovery
log volume, first complete the following fields and then click Finish,
or click Cancel to end the task. All recovery log volumes must reside
on random access media.
Note for Sun Solaris server platform: Raw partitions generally provide the best performance.
Attention: The size of an allocated recovery log volume
cannot be changed once it has been defined to the server. If you change
the size of volumes, the server may not initialize correctly and data could
be lost.
Volume Name
Enter the file name of the recovery log volume. This field is required. Enter
the name with either the fully qualified path name or the
name relative to the server's current working directory.
Except on a Windows server, enclose the name
in quotation marks if the name contains embedded blanks or equal signs.
Format Size
Enter the size of the volume to be formatted and defined. The numerical
value specified is interpreted as megabytes.
Note: Format Size does
not apply to MVS
or VM.
