How to print LIST38PP formatted for DEV(38PPNS90)

I have a LIST38PP file formatted for DEV(38PPNS90). Why can't I print it on the 3820?

Answer

  In theory, you should be able to use a FORMDEF that would allow you to
  print the LIST38PP file. However, due to differences in hardware origins
  between the 3800-3 and 3820, you cannot.

  You can print that LIST38PP file on a 3827 or 3835 printer using FORMDEFs
  provided with the PSFs for migration from 3800-3 to those printers. See the
  PSF user's guide for more information.
