Setting Limits for Deduction Amounts

Limits can be applied to the deduction amounts that a user enters when creating a deduction on a case. These limits are based on whether the deduction amount is fixed or variable. A fixed amount is a set amount of money that is deducted from a participant's benefit payment. For example, a court may order $20 of participant's unemployment insurance payment to be deducted and used to pay off child support owed by the participant. Variable amounts are calculated as percentages. A percentage of a participant's benefit payment is deducted from his or her total benefit amount or a component of the benefit. For example a 10% state defined income tax can be set up as a deduction on a participant's unemployment insurance payments.
