Referring a Client to a Service Provider

This section describes the process of referring a client to an external service provider. The referral process is used to refer a client for a service that is not paid for by the agency. Typically, the providers of these services have no formal contract with the agency. The process includes specifying a referral service, indicating to follow up with a client, and sending notification letters to the client and service provider.

Case workers can also check a client's availability to attend the service and avail of tools that enable them to find the best service provider.
